Prior to establishing The Abraham Group, Mr. Abraham served four years as the U.S. Secretary of Energy in the administration of President George W. Bush. He led efforts to broaden America's international energy partnerships, working with China, Japan, Russia, the E.U., countries in South America and Africa and certain OPEC nations. Domestically, he spearheaded the department's high-tech efforts in the development and expansion of clean technology programs, including hydrogen fuel cells. According to the Presidential Management Agenda scorecard, the Department of Energy went from "worst to first" of well-run agencies under Secretary Abraham's leadership. Prior to being named Secretary of Energy, Mr. Abraham served as a U.S. Senator from Michigan for six years. Mr. Abraham is also Non-Executive Chairman of AREVA, Inc and a member of the Board of Directors of Occidental Petroleum. In addition, he is a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution, a FOX News analyst and a periodic contributor of op-ed articles to the Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Weekly Standard and other publications. He holds a law degree from Harvard University. Mr. Norman L. Bryan, P.E.Mr. Bryan served as Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Pacific Gas & Electric Co. (PG&E) prior to his retirement in 1994. He also held the position of Vice President, Alternative Fuel Vehicles, leading the development of infrastructure for natural gas and electric powered vehicles. Since leaving PG&E, he has consulted with various organizations on alternative fuel vehicles. He serves on the board of directors of IMPCO Technologies, Inc., a company that produces fuel systems to allow internal combustion engines to run on gaseous fuels. He is also a member of the Board of Advisors for the Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California at Davis. Mr. Bryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from San Jose State University and a Master’s degree in Business from Stanford University. He is a registered professional engineer. Dr. Andrew F. BurkeDr. Burke holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Applied Mathematics, a Master of Arts degree in Aerospace Engineering and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Sciences. Since 1974 his career work has involved many aspects of energy, electric vehicle design, analysis and testing. He served as systems engineer for the Hybrid Vehicle Project at General Electric and consulted to Argonne and Idaho National Engineering Labs on various Department of Energy electric vehicle, battery and ultra capacitor programs. Dr. Burke joined the research faculty of the Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California at Davis in 1994. He has performed research on and taught graduate courses on advanced electric driveline technologies specializing in batteries, ultra capacitors, fuel cells, hybrid vehicle design, control and simulation. Dr. Woodrow W. Clark IIWoodrow W. Clark II, MA3, Ph.D. is a qualitative economist whose book, Agile Energy Systems: Global Lessons from the California Energy Crisis (co-author, Prof. Ted Bradshaw, University of California at Davis), was published from Elsevier Press, UK in October 04. His current book, Qualitative Economics: Toward a Science of Economics, with Prof. Michael Fast (Aalborg University, Denmark) is due out in 2006. Dr. Clark earned three separate Master of Arts degrees and his Ph.D. from University of California at Berkeley. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences Panel, “Hybrid Mass Transit Systems.” Dr. Clark was Senior Policy Advisor for Energy Reliability to California Governor Gray Davis (2000-2003) with a focus on renewable generation, advanced technologies and finance. Dr. Clark co-founded the California Stationary Fuel Cell Collaborative; helped to start the State Government initiative on “green” public buildings and sustainable historic buildings, and started the “Hydrogen Highway” (2003) for the State. “California's Next Economy,” a white paper he published in 2003, stands as a benchmark for the State's economic growth. Dr. Clark was Manager of Strategic Planning for Energy at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory during the 1990s. He has an international reputation as a leader, author and implementer in renewable energy, emerging technologies and economic development. Dr. Clark founded Clark Communications in San Francisco (1980) and is now Managing Director in Los Angeles, California. His clients are global in Asia (China) as well as Europe which include: (1) Los Angeles Community College District, as Director of Renewable Energy buildings on the nine campuses with a $2.3 billion bond measure; (2) Senior Fellow, Environmental Finance at the Milken Institute in Santa Monica, California; (3) Adjunct Professor, Graduate School of Business, Pepperdine University; (4) Chair of the Science and Technology Team for Green Hydrogen (with Jeremy Rifkin); and (5) Co-Founder, Chair of Advisory Board, Pianeta srl, a renewable energy company in Settimo, Italy, India and the People's Republic of China. Mr. Azzam RustomMr. Rustom is a co-founder of the Platinum Group, an international business development company established in 1984. Mr. Rustom has been instrumental in the growth and success of the many diverse business interests of the Group. An innovative visionary, he has been the "key man" in the formation of new international business ventures with emphasis on telecommunications. Educated in Europe, Mr. Rustom is multi-lingual. Mr. David SandersDave Sanders is a founding member and Managing Partner of WorldBridge Partners. He began his executive search career in 1993 and is well established in the West Coast venture capital community. Dave is a national expert working with early and mid stage high growth companies. With his Corporate Finance background at Intel and sixteen years of sales and marketing management experience at IBM, he understands what is required to successfully manage an organization in high growth stages as well as attracting top talent in increasingly competitive markets. Dave earned his MBA in Finance from the University of California at Berkeley and his Bachelors of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Michigan. He is a founding board member of the Golden Capital Network, a board member of the Sacramento Area Regional Technology Alliance, and an executive committee member of the Northern California Council of the AeA. He also sits on the board for Chapman Ventures and on the advisory board for Altergy. Mr. John WallaceSince July 2005, Mr. Wallace has served as Chief Executive Officer of Xantrex, a manufacturer of advanced power electronics products and systems for the distributed, mobile and programmable power markets. Mr. Wallace has been a director of Xantrex since May 2003. From 2002 to 2005, Mr. Wallace provided management, business and technology consulting services to a number of companies in the alternative energy and power electronics industries. From November 2004 until May 2005, Mr. Wallace was interim Chief Executive Officer of AVESTOR, a developer and manufacturer of a lithium-metal-polymer battery, based in Boucherville, Quebec and from 1982 to 2002, Mr. Wallace worked for the Ford Motor Company, where he spent more than a decade helping Ford become the world’s largest producer of alternative fuel vehicles. His final assignment with Ford was serving as Executive Director of the THINK Group, where he was responsible for the development of hybrid electric, fuel cell electric and battery electric vehicles. Prior to Ford, Mr. Wallace was a leader in microprocessor development in high growth technology companies such as Texas Instruments and Intel. Mr. Wallace serves on the Boards of Millennium Cell and Enova and serves other associations including acting as the director of the Electric Drive Transportation Association. He has also been named as Chief Technical Advisor to the China/UNDP Fuel Cell bus program. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Computer Science. Mr. Jeremy M. WolfeMr. Wolfe brings to Altergy a deep history in finance and technology, having spent over 15 years in executive-level financial management, private equity, investment banking, and high-tech manufacturing. Mr. Wolfe’s experience includes many years in private equity at both ABS Capital Partners and Goldman Sachs. ABS Capital is a leading private equity fund with over $1.5 billion under management and offices in San Francisco, Boston and Baltimore, investing in mid- to late-stage expansion financing, recapitalization, and buyout opportunities across a number of sectors, including energy and technology. As a senior member of the west coast office, he was responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and managing investments, as well as working closely with the executive teams of both private and public portfolio companies in strategic, operational and financial planning. At Goldman Sachs, Mr. Wolfe was part of the principal investment group, which manages well over $30 billion in private capital, driving investments and helping to manage the firm’s portfolio on the west coast in the technology sector. Mr. Wolfe was also the Chief Financial Officer at Found, Inc., a retail/CPG-focused enterprise software company providing real-time inventory and supply management solutions, and backed by Accel/KKR and Bain Capital. At Found, he was responsible for the company’s business development activities as well as management of all financial and capital raising strategy and planning. He also spent several years in investment banking at both Goldman Sachs and Robertson Stephens, driving a broad range of financing, M&A, and restructuring transactions for clients in the technology, communications and services industries. He began his career at Intel Corporation, working in areas such as commodity/supply chain management and systems development. Mr. Wolfe earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, where he graduated with High Distinction (top 5%). He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in both Mechanical Engineering and Management Information Systems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Ms. Michele C. WongMichele Wong is the President and CEO of Synergex International Corporation, a Northern California-based software company. She joined Synergex in 1982 as a systems programmer, and then rapidly progressed through the positions of Project Leader and Vice President of Software Development. She was promoted to Executive Vice President in 1984, was named President in 1990, and was appointed CEO in 1996. Under her leadership, Synergex has grown from a 20-employeee, one-product firm into an internationally recognized software manufacturer with a wide range of products installed in all 50 U.S. states and more than 80 nations. She has been named one of the “Best and Brightest in Sacramento” by Sacramento Magazine. In addition to her duties at Synergex, Ms. Wong is President of the Sacramento Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Board of Trustees (and Chair for the Capital Area Light the Night events), a member of the Executive Committee of the American Electronics Association Sacramento Council, and Secretary of the Board of Directors of KVIE Channel 6 Public Television. She is also a member of the Fair Oaks Community Planning Advisory Council, the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors, the Board of Directors of MetroPAC, the United Way’s Women in Philanthropy, and the University of California-Davis External Research Advisory Board. She is a fellow of the American Leadership Forum-Mountain Valley Chapter. In 2000, she received the Woman of the Year Award as the Sacramento Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s top fundraiser. Ms. Wong is a graduate of the University of California at Davis, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. |
