Altergy Receives Additional ANSI/CSA FC-1 Certification/Listing

FOLSOM, California – February 25, 2009 – Altergy Systems announced today that its Freedom Power Systems (548 Series) of fuel cell power systems have received full certification to the American National Standards/CSA America Standard for Stationary Fuel Cell Power Systems (ANSI/CSA FC-1) requirements.  Certification testing was performed by CSA International.  Certification testing was performed by CSA International.

ANSI/CSA FC-1 is the industry standard for stationary fuel cell power systems that assures customers that listed fuel cells meet rigorous safety and performance requirements.  Listing to this standard is required by many building and other regulatory codes, including NFPA 853.  Additionally, these advanced fuel cell systems also meet the requirements of FCC Part 15, Subpart B, Class A, which is required by law for sales within the US for use in industrial/commercial applications.

CSA International is a leading provider of product testing and certification services.  They test products for compliance to national and international standards, and issue certification marks for qualified products.  Certification marks tell potential customers and users that a product has been evaluated by a formal process--involving examination, testing and follow-up inspection--and that it complies with applicable standards for safety and performance.

“The 548 Series of Freedom Power Products brings our total number of ANSI FC-1 certified products to 8, and makes the 48 volt series ready for full scale deployment.  Furthermore, Altergy’s automated, high volume production line is now certified to produce either these 48 VDC systems or the previously certified 24 VDC systems,” stated Chris Radley, Altergy’s Vice President of Product and Process Engineering.
