Altergy Freedom Power™ Systems Support Earth Day Celebration at the California Department of General Services Headquarters

WEST SACRAMENTO, California – April 18, 2007 –Two Altergy Freedom Power fuel cell systems provided power to the California Department of General Services’ (DGS) Earth Day celebration and exhibition today at the agency’s Ziggurat building headquarters in West Sacramento. The event, called Greening the Golden State, focused on efforts being made in government and the private sector to save energy & conserve resources, as well as steps individuals can take to do the same. 

Altergy’s Freedom Power FCM-1 system, a one-kilowatt system, supplied the power for the event’s microphones and speakers.  An Altergy Freedom Power FCM-5 system, a five-kilowatt system, generated the electricity used to power exhibits throughout the vendor display area.

“Governor Schwarzenegger has challenged us to lead by example to protect our environment and fight global warming.  Your participation in our Earth Day celebration is a great example of that kind of leadership.  Thank you for your commitment,” commented Will Bush, Director of the California Department of General Services.
